From time to time Mel runs courses for professional actors at The Actors Centre London (0044 (0) 20 7240 3940). Recent courses have been on acting for film, masks in rehearsal, Shakespeare, Jacobean drama, Restoration comedy and voicework. Mel also does some courses for The Northern Actors Centre (0044 (0)161 819 2513 and The Actors Centre North East 0044 (0)191 221 0158. Mel travels abroad extensively working for Universities, drama colleges and theatre companies.

Mel also now offers coaching via webcam on Skype. (Subject to vagaries of internet!) This is not available for people in the UK (unless under exceptional circumstances) as it can in no way be a substitute for teaching in person. However, it can help for specific things like approaching texts such as classical texts, organising audition pieces, giving some thoughts on an audition or screen test or working on a standard British accent.

I have just tried this with an actor in Germany and this was the reponse after the session:

'It was an interesting way to get coached. I think I would prefer working with you "live" but in a situation like I'm in now and I'm unable to fly to London, it is a good alternative.'
